Mummification is a form of full body bondage in which the most of the body (sometimes with the exception of head, hands and feet) is covered.

Safety

As with all forms of bondage, safety has to be the first concern. Since mummification covers the whole body, it traps a lot of heat between the wrap and body. This can lead to overheating and dehydration. Before starting mummification, a sufficient amount of cold water for drinking and quick cooling down should be prepared. Damp towels can also come in handy to cool down an overheated body.
The second concern is breathing. Even if you are into asphyxiation, it is important to make sure the air supply is not cut off. For this reason, most dominants do not cover the head with the same wrap as the rest of the body but either leave the head completely uncovered or use a hood. A third of the heat is dissipated from the head, so if you include the head into the mummification, you need to be even more careful about overheating.
Like with all immobilizing bondage, the subject should never be left alone while mummified.

Materials

Mummification can be achieved in with a wide variety of materials. Plastic wrap, tape, leather, cloth, body bags, bandages, plaster bandages and straitjackets.
Technique

Mummification is usually started with the upper body. The subject is either sitting or standing as the torso and arms are wrapped up. Then the subject is usually laid down as the lower body is mummified. For more comfort you can add a towel or other padding around the knees and ankles. If you decide to cover the head, do so last to give the submissive a chance to give feedback.
